The Elope Team is a passionate group of professionals dedicated to creating beautiful, stress-free elopements, intimate weddings, and micro weddings for couples across Australia. Founded by owner Kate, the business is built on the belief that getting married should feel personal, relaxed, and truly meaningful.
Working alongside Kate is Lisa, our experienced Wedding Planner, who supports couples throughout their elopement journey and ensures every detail of their elopement or micro wedding comes together seamlessly. Behind the scenes, our Head of Visuals manages our photography and videography, including in-house photo and video editing, ensuring every elopement is beautifully captured and professionally finished. Our onsite Head of Legals oversees all marriage registrations nationwide, ensuring every ceremony is handled with care and in line with Australian legal requirements.
Supporting our head office team is a trusted network of professionals located across Australia. Each of our teams is local to the destinations where we offer our elopements and intimate weddings, and every photographer, celebrant, and creative partner has been carefully hand-picked for their experience, professionalism, and high quality work. They are established, highly sought-after experts in their field who share our passion for delivering exceptional wedding experiences.

Our head office, located in Ringwood, Victoria, serves as the central hub for our growing national operations. From here, our experienced and dedicated administration team works behind the scenes to support our services across the country, ensuring everything runs smoothly for the couples and communities we serve. The office plays an important role in coordinating our nationwide network while maintaining the personalised care and attention that our business is known for.
In addition to being our operational base, our Ringwood location is also a welcoming space where couples can visit to celebrate their registry office wedding. Designed to feel warm, intimate, and relaxed, it offers a comfortable setting for couples to mark this special milestone. Conveniently located in Melbourne’s beautiful eastern suburbs, our head office provides an accessible and meaningful place for couples to gather, celebrate, and begin their next chapter together.

Elope Yarra Valley was established back in 2018. when Kate, a marriage celebrant in the local area for many years had an idea - to approach some prestigious wedding venues in her “backyard” - the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Melbourne CBD and Mornington Peninsula areas. Collaborating with them to bring weddings to these venues during the week, when it was typically a quieter time for them, still leaving room for the larger weddings booked 2 years in advance on weekends.
Elope Yarra Valley was the original business collaborating with some of the most incredible local suppliers (photographers, celebrants and florists) to bring elopements and micro weddings to the forefront of the industry. At the time, the term ‘micro wedding’ was relatively unheard of.
By focusing on mid-week, we were able to bring top notch suppliers together on their typical days off and gain access to some of the most sought after venues in the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula at a fraction of the price without the long lead times of a usual large wedding. We could get people married within weeks of their initial inquiry but were offering a beautiful alternative to the registry office.

When Covid hit in 2020 we already had a well established business so in a time where others in the wedding industry were scrambling to pivot Elope YV had established packages for all the restrictions that were to follow.
Through this time, we managed to support our incredible team of celebrant, photographers, videographers, florist, hair and makeup artists to keep their businesses afloat and continued to plan and host some truly intimate celebrations.
It was at this point in time where Elope Australia quickly established nationally. As a result, Elope Yarra Valley merged into Elope Australia. We were now the only fully established national elopement and micro wedding business operating in every state and territory in Australia and New Zealand.
